RAINY DAY ADVENTURES - A FALL FAMILY SESSION WITH THE GUILLENS
Last weekend, Adam and I had the joy of photographing one of my favorite families, the Guillens—Eddy, Ashley, and their two kids, Lena and Zavi. This family holds a very special place in my heart. Since 2015, when I stepped in last minute to capture Eddy and Ashley’s wedding, I’ve had the privilege of documenting their life together. From shooting Zavi’s birth to our annual family sessions, each year brings new memories to capture.
A FALL FAMILY SESSION WITH THE COOKS
This year’s session was particularly special. Fall colors were at their peak, painting the trees in vibrant shades of gold, red, and orange. However, the weather had a mind of its own—it was rainy, drizzly, and wet. While some might view these conditions as a challenge, Tanner, Holly and Adam and I saw them as a unique opportunity. The rain added an enchanting atmosphere to the fall landscape, giving everything a fresh, dewy glow and making the colors pop even more… and as you know Adam and I are always up for an adventure.
MATT AND MEGAN: KANSAS COUNTRY WEDDING
Matt and Megan’s Kansas country farm wedding was the epitome of rustic charm, wrapped in heartfelt moments and set against the serene backdrop of Kansas farmland. Held on a warm, sunlit day, their wedding perfectly captured the essence of rural romance and intimate celebration, filled with personal touches and surrounded by their closest family and friends.
KENDALL AND JESSI
There are few places as magical as Eureka Springs, Arkansas, and Kendall and Jessi’s destination wedding was a perfect blend of charm, romance, and timeless elegance. From the breathtaking Thorncrown Chapel to the stunning reception in the Crystal Ballroom at The Crescent Hotel, every moment felt like a dream.
ALEX AND ELIZABETH
As a photographer, there’s nothing quite as fulfilling as seeing clients return for life’s milestone moments. When Elizabeth, one of my favorite senior session clients from way back, reached out about shooting her wedding, I was thrilled and it was wonderful to reconnect. Their engagement session had all the elements of a photographer’s dream: golden-hour light, the lively backdrop of Kansas City’s hotel district, and a couple deeply in love. Elizabeth and her fiancé Alex chose some incredible locations for their shoot—each reflecting different aspects of their journey together: the hotel district, Andy’s Frozen Custard, and the iconic Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art.
JOEY AND LARISA
Recently, Adam and I had the honor of photographing a glamorous intimate wedding at an amazing venue in Peculiar, MO, The Lumbar Co. Joey and Larissa was surrounded by elegance and personal touches that reflected the couple’s unique love story. The venue was the perfect backdrop—lush greenery, twinkling lights, with a beautifully designed outdoor space that created an ambiance of romance and sophistication.

Darren and Becky's hometown wedding in Clinton, MO was an intimate celebration that centered around their closest friends and family. Surrounded by the love and support of their cherished ones, they exchanged vows in the Bible Baptist Church, a setting that reflected the simplicity and beauty of their bond. It was a day filled with heartfelt moments, joyous laughter, and the beginning of a new chapter in their lives together.
SAM AND RYDER
There's something truly magical about capturing the essence of a family through photography, especially when it involves a milestone moment like a senior session. This past week, we had the pleasure of photographing Sam and Ryder, Adam’s two sons, who came up to Kansas City from Carl Junction, for their first senior photo session of the year. We decided to explore the vibrant Crossroads District of Kansas City, with its colorful street art and bustling atmosphere, as well as visit the serene Berkley Riverfront Front for a change of scenery.
TAYLOR AND LAURA
First off, let me just say, this engagement session was nothing short of epic. I had been eagerly anticipating this day for quite some time because I have the pleasure of knowing Taylor. To know him is to know that there are four things in his life that mean everything to him... Faith, Family, Music and Laura. Not necessarily in that order.

DEVIN AND TORIE
Last minute changes couldn't dampen our spirits at the intimate rooftop micro wedding of Devin and Torie that happened this past Saturday. Their gorgeous wedding emphasized that "micro" translates to "intimate" in all the right ways. So much genuine love and friendship was shared with their family and their fur babies. Devin and Torie exchanged vows against the backdrop of the city skyline, with tears of happiness in their eyes. The love between them was palpable, and it touched everyone in attendance.
SCHNAKE FAMILY SESSION AND A SENIOR PICTURE OR TWO | Previews
For years, I have had the privilege of knowing this wonderful family. Our journey began as members of the Shawnee Mission West Marching Band Family, where we quickly formed a strong bond. However our connection goes much deeper than our shared love for all things music, live performances and photography,
We found common ground in our unwavering dedication to our children. As parents, we understand the importance of supporting and protecting our kids as they navigate the challenges of growing up and discovering their true selves. Together, we have stood by each other, offering a shoulder to lean on and a hand hold during the tough times.
MATT AND MEGAN
Let me start off by saying, "Wow!" Matt and Megan truly blew us away with their engagement session at their home outside of Atchison, KS. It was a perfect Thursday night with a stunning sunset serving as the backdrop for their photoshoot. The views we had were nothing short of exceptional and the atmosphere was filled with love and warmth, making it a joy to capture their special moments. What added an extra element of excitement to the session was the friendly rivalry between KU and KState, which Matt and Megan playfully embraced. It brought a fun and light-hearted energy to the shoot, making it even more memorable!
CHASE AND MICHAELA
Chase and Michael had an absolutely gorgeous wedding at The Martin Event Space. The venue was adorned with twinkling lights, beautiful floral arrangements, and a sense of love and joy that filled the air. We had an exceptional time shooting Joey and Larisa’s engagement session yesterday evening. Our couple had been dreaming of a moody and romantic setting for their photos, and Vaile Mansion provided the perfect backdrop for their vision of moody grandeur. As the sun began to set, the golden light bathed the historic mansion in a warm glow, creating a magical atmosphere that enhanced every moment captured by the camera. Vaile Mansion is a hidden gem in Independence, Missouri, with a rich history and stunning architecture that provided the perfect backdrop.
MICHAEL AND KELSEY
Michael and Kelsey's engagement session was nothing if not perfect. The love between them was palpable as they walked hand in hand through the Burr Oaks Conservation Park. The soft rays of the sun peeked through the trees, casting a warm glow on their faces as they laughed and embraced. The beauty of nature served as the perfect backdrop for capturing their love in its purest form.
JOEL CRAVEN, GRADUATE TO BE
Meeting young men like Joel reaffirms my belief that the future is bright, that there is still so much potential and promise in the next generation. It's easy to get bogged down by the challenges and uncertainties of the world, but when I see the passion and drive in young people like Joel, I am filled with hope and optimism for what lies ahead.
