A GOLDEN FALL DAY WITH THE FINIGAN FAMILY AND SENIOR BRODY AT THE NELSON ATKINS MUSEUM OF ARTS
There’s something truly magical about fall in Kansas City, especially when the golden leaves and crisp air serve as the perfect backdrop for a combined family and senior session. The Finnegan family, along with their oldest, Brody, who’s preparing to graduate high school, joined us at the iconic Nelson Atkins Museum of Art for a session full of laughter, love, and unforgettable memories.
The Nelson Atkins Museum is a favorite of ours for a reason. With its sprawling grounds, classic architecture, and those famous shuttlecock sculptures, it offers countless opportunities for stunning backdrops. On this particular fall day, the vibrant orange and red hues of the season complemented the museum’s timeless beauty.
The Finnegan family arrived dressed perfectly for the season—coordinating outfits with warm tones that paired beautifully with the autumn leaves. They were a joy to work with, exuding a blend of warmth and togetherness that made every shot feel natural and genuine. We started the session with a few images of Brody. We began with him sitting on the museum’s stone steps to break the ice - however - as a senior preparing to take on the world, Brody brought an energy all his own to the session. His easy going confidence made photographing him a breeze. He’s probably going to kill me but would ya look at those freckles???!
After capturing some epic shots of Brody, we began family portraits, capturing the connection and love shared among the Finigans. The brother teased each other, their laughter filling the air, while Mom and Dad shared quiet smiles and a few playful moments of their own. From sitting on the museum’s stone steps to walking hand-in-hand through the tree-lined pathways, their joy was contagious.
